Workflow orchestration: Overview

Workflow orchestration involves creating workflow processes, defining paths, setting configurations, and assigning users to each step.

Strategic sourcing consists of key steps like Intake, Select Suppliers, Approve, Bid, and Award, each with unique functions. The orchestration tool also includes a Conditional step enabling users to apply rules that direct requests based on specific conditions.

All workflows start with the Begin step, triggering the workflow. The standard template in the orchestration tool includes Intake, Supplier Selection, Approve, Bid, Award, and End steps.

Workflow steps:

Workflows can be tailored to specific needs by creating multiple steps of the same type, skipping certain steps based on business requirements and implementation (online vs. API-driven), and incorporating Conditional steps for more advanced scenarios.

Keelvar's workflow orchestration is flexible, configurable, and powerful, enabling you to automate what parts of the workflow should be fully automated or assigned to your team for human oversight.
