A utility that checks for common sources of infeasibility—like capacity violations, or partial coverage—before running a custom award scenario. This allows the user to have these safety checks prior to evaluating the scenario.
Running Pre-Screening Checks
1. Enter into the Custom Award scenario.
2. In the 'Add Rules' pane on the right side of the screen, select 'Add' next to Custom Award.
3. There will be 2 different options, Manual override and Combine scenarios. Under 'Manual override', select 'Run pre-screening checks'.
Pre-Screening Results
Forced Allocation Without Coverage
- Provides a check to see if any bidders are given an award for lots they did not bid on. This would be infeasible as lots cannot be awarded to a bidder if they did not place a bid for that lot.
Example: If you try to award a bidder on lots they did not bid on, this will be infeasible.

Forced Allocation Below Minimum Award
- Provides a check to see if bidders are being awarded an amount that is lower than the minimum award threshold. The minimum share size is the least amount of share a bidder can be awarded, so any less than that will be infeasible.
Example: If you try to award a bidder 0.8% of a lane, this will be infeasible as the minimum share size can be no less than 1%. When turning on Split Configuration, you can set the minimum share size. A bidder cannot be awarded a share less than the minimum share size.

Forced Allocation Missing Remaining Coverage
- Informs the user if lots have forced allocations but there are no bids to cover the remaining share. In a situation where a bidder is partially awarded, the remaining share on the lot cannot be awarded if bids were not placed by other bidders.
Example: You cannot award the remainder of a lot to a bidder if they did not place a bid on that lot. If there is remaining coverage on a lot, it must be awarded to a bidder who has placed a bid on that lot.

Forced Allocation Remainder Below Minimum Award
- Informs the user if lots have forced allocations but the remaining share is below the minimum award. When a bidder is partially awarded, the remaining share must also be awarded to another bidder. If the remaining share is less than the minimum share size, the scenario will be infeasible as it cannot partially award this to another bidder.
Example: If there is remaining coverage on a lot, it cannot be awarded if the share is less than the minimum share size. If Bidder01 was awarded 99.8% of a lot, 0.2% cannot be awarded as this is less than the minimum share size.
Forced Allocations Above Maximum Award
- Informs the user if lots have forced allocations above the total allocation of 100%. This provides a check to see if any lot(s) are being awarded over 100% share. It is not possible for lot(s) to be awarded more than 100% share.
Example: If you try to award a lot with a share greater than 100%, this will be infeasible.
Split Award with Insufficient Bids
- Informs the user if lots do not have sufficient bids to cover split award configuration. Provides a check to see if the lot(s) do not have enough bids to split the award.
Example: If a lot needed to be split 60/40, you would see an error if there were not enough bids to cover this split.
