The new Searoutes integration enables users to accurately track CO2 emissions for shipments across multiple transportation modes, including air, road, sea, inland water, and rail. By seamlessly importing emissions data into the bid sheet, buyers gain visibility into the environmental impact of their supply chain. This integration follows our standard bid sheet enrichment flow, with the added flexibility to scope emissions at both the item level and the bid level, offering a comprehensive view of carbon performance during procurement events.
Connecting the Searoutes Integration with Keelvar
The integration can be enabled in the Keelvar platform under Account Settings by entering the authentication key provided by Searoutes:

Adjusting your integration key
To edit your Integration Key:
- Select Edit
- Enter the adjusted Authentication key
- Click Save changes
To disconnect your Integration Key:
- Select Disconnect
- Confirm by selecting Disconnect on the confirmation modal
Configuring the integration column
Searoutes intake is configured via integration columns. You will need to add the relevant Integration Column in your sourcing event. You can add multiple integration columns.
Searoutes integration columns can be bidder scoped. Bidder scoped means that details of the supplier response are used in the calculation of the Co2 emissions.
Figure 3. Configure the integration column
Note:
- A bidder scoped column will allow for other bidder columns to be selected in the config of the integration column.
- A buyer scoped column will not allow bidder columns to be selected in the config of the integration column.
The integration supports multiple modes of transport including:
- Air
- Rail
- Road
- Sea
- Inland water
Each mode features distinct configuration options that may vary slightly based on its specific requirements. These configuration settings are dynamically updated depending on the selected transport mode, ensuring a tailored and efficient setup for each.
Figure 4. Configure the parameters
Response will return the CO2 emissions for the shipment:
- total: total CO₂e emissions (in grams).
- wtt and ttw: emissions broken down by Well-to-Tank and Tank-to-Wheel (in grams).
- intensity: CO₂e intensity (in kg CO₂e per ton-km).
Multi Leg Trips
If you wish to record the emissions of multi leg trips e.g. a door to door move might involve road, air and road. Each leg should be handled as a separate column and formula fields can be used to sum the results into a total value.
Bulk Import
Bulk import functionality requires users to manually trigger the import of rates. This process can be used to import missing values or to perform a bulk refresh of all existing values. Imports can be initiated either before or after bidding rounds.
Note: bidder-scoped values are not automatically imported upon bid submission.
