How are tie breaks awarded?

Tie breaks on bids are harder to manually identify when package bidding and conditional discounts are considered. Keelvar's optimization tool will return the first optimal result it calculates and as such will award the tie break lots to a specific bidder. Where applicable, we would recommend that tie breaking rules be included in the award criteria.

For example, assume a case where two bidders have submitted an identical (lowest priced) bid on a lot. If a lot can be awarded to Bidder A or Bidder B without changing the overall cost of the outcome, our system will recognize that both outcomes are, in fact, a valid lowest cost outcome. When this occurs our system will arbitrarily award the lot to one of these bidders (e.g., the lot goes to Bidder A).
