This guide explains how to submit bids through the Bid Hub for single-item requests on the Quick Bids tab. It covers two primary workflows: submitting bids for new items using Keelvar's Dynamic Bidding feature and reviewing and approving automated bids using Autonomous Bidding. Users can automate responses and synchronize updated pricing back to Rate Cards for future efficiency.

Submit bids in Bid Hub
The Bid Hub simplifies bidding on single-item requests by allowing direct submissions from the Quick Bids tab. Users can automate responses via Autonomous Bidding, which pre-populates rates based on saved values from a Rate Card. Rates can also automatically sync to Rate Cards during submission from the Quick Bids tab for future requests on the same lane.
Submit a bid for new items
New requests appear in the Request list under the Quick Bids tab. If an item lacks a matching rate from any current Rate Card, the system prompts for a manual submission via the + Place Bid action button.
Selecting + Place Bid opens the Add bid side panel. The side panel contains two tabs: Bid and Additional Details.

Within the Bid tab, users can input rates and save those values to a Rate Card.
- Walkaway Rates: Enter Linehaul, Minimum Charge, and Cost per mile to define the walkaway price. Adjusting one field automatically updates the others based on request distance
- Datetime Acceptance: Select this checkbox to confirm the ability to meet pickup and delivery schedules
- Bidding Strategy: Configures the initial bid price as a percentage increase over the walkaway linehaul. After bid submission, Keelvar automatically lowers the price to maintain a competitive position until either the rate wins or the walkaway limit is reached
- Update Rate Card: Select this option to save walkaway pricing for the item. Select Only save 3 digit post code for broader rate application across regional zip codes instead of 5-digit zip codes
Click Submit bid to finalize the submission. Monitor the Linehaul column to track real-time price updates as the bidding strategy executes. Keelvar updates the current bid price in real time whenever a lower bid is submitted on that request.
Add bid - Additional details tab
The Additional Details tab presents further details related to each request. Displayed fields vary depending on the Purchaser-Inputs configured for that request. For questions regarding field content or requests for additional information, contact the purchaser directly.
Review and approve existing rates
When a request matches an item saved in a Rate Card, the system pre-populates the bid data. The status displays as Review & Approve in the Request list.
- Click the Review & Approve status to open the Add bid side panel
- Verify the pre-populated rates, strategy, and Rate Card settings
- Modify Linehaul, Minimum Charge, or Cost per mile as required
- Click Approve to submit the bid
NOTE: If Update rate card is enabled, changes made to walkaway values during approval will overwrite existing saved rates for that lane in the Rate Card.
